    Day 1

    Day 01: CUSCO - ANDAHUAYLILLAS - RAQCHI - PUKARA - PUNO

Get ready for one of the most impressive routes in southern Peru. At the time agreed in the previous briefing, we will pick you up at your accommodation to start this adventure. We will board the bus at Alameda Pachacuteq Avenue and depart along the South Andean Highway towards the city of Puno. Our first stop will be at the Church of San Pedro Apostle of Andahuaylillas, a baroque jewel of the XVI century known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. Its frescoes, its history and the energy of the place make it an unforgettable start. We continue to one of the most sacred places of the Inca cosmovision, the archaeological complex of Raqchi, where the majestic Temple of Wiracocha is located. With 15-meter walls and an atmosphere that seems to stop time, this site is a tribute to the supreme god of the Andes. After the amazement, a delicious buffet lunch awaits us in Sicuani. Andean dishes with meat, chicken or fish, accompanied by garnishes, salads, desserts and the infallible herbal teas that comfort body and soul. With a full stomach and a happy heart, we will arrive at the highest point of the trip, La Raya, the natural border between Cusco and Puno. Here, at more than 4,300 meters above sea level, the mountains seem to touch the sky and the scenery is simply unforgettable. Finally, we enter the mystery of the Andean origins visiting the Pukara Museum, cradle of an ancient culture that flourished between 500 BC and 200 AD and marked the beginning of the Tiahuanaco civilization. Around 17:30 hrs, we will arrive in Puno, on the shores of the majestic Lake Titicaca. We will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel and rest after this day full of history, flavors and unique landscapes.
