We will get up very early to enjoy breakfast and, later, we will collect our belongings to begin the trip to Cock of the Rock Lodge, making several stops along the way to observe endemic species in the area. Then we will continue towards the lodge, where we will have lunch. Upon arrival, we will settle into the rooms and have some time to rest. Later, we will visit the hummingbird feeders in the garden. In the afternoon, we will continue bird watching and visit the Andean cock-of-the-rock lek, where the males perform their spectacular courtship dance, offering us excellent photography opportunities. At the end, we will return to the lodge to rest and, later, we will take a night tour of approximately 25 minutes by van in search of the Lyre-tailed Nightjar and the Rufescent Screech Owl. Finally, we will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and spend the night.

We will wake up early again to have breakfast at the lodge, then we will pack our bags and begin the journey towards Cocha Machuwasi, which is located two hours from CORL. Along the way, we will make stops to observe species that we have not yet seen, we will arrive at Atalaya where we will board the boat for 30 minutes until we reach Cocha Machuwasi where we will observe a wide variety of bird species around a small lagoon, like Hoatzin. After this activity, we will continue to Villa Carmen Lodge, passing through two small towns, Patria and Pilcopata. Upon arrival, we will settle in at the lodge, followed by lunch and a relaxing rest. In the afternoon, we will walk along trails in a bamboo forest where we will find many species, such as tanagers, flycatchers, swallows, jays, orioles and others. After hiking the trails, we will return to the lodge to shower and have dinner.

Después del desayuno, visitaremos el Jardín de Picaflores “Inka Amazonia”, uno de los mejores lugares de la zona para observar colibríes y tomar fotografías, donde es posible apreciar especies como el Gould’s Jewelfront, entre muchas otras. During the journey, we will enjoy our box lunch. On the way back, and if weather conditions allow, we will take one last walk through the cloud forest, an excellent final opportunity to observe wildlife. Finalmente, continuaremos nuestro viaje de retorno a la ciudad de Cusco, con llegada aproximada a las 5:00 p.m.
