One-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Our adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 a.m. (approx.). We’ll continue our journey by tour bus to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we’ll board the 6:40 a.m. train bound for Km 104, the starting point of the 1-Day Inca Trail. Once at the checkpoint, we’ll begin the hike accompanied by our tour guide. Our first stop will be at the Chachabamba archaeological site, a mystical place surrounded by nature. We’ll continue ascending along an ancient Inca trail until we reach Wiñaywayna, an impressive archaeological complex offering panoramic views of the valley and the Andean jungle. Here, we’ll take the opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch and recharge our energy. The hike continues through tropical landscapes, surrounded by flora and fauna, until we reach the Gate of the Sun (Inti Punku) at 2,720 m above sea level, where we’ll catch our first glimpse of the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu in all its grandeur. From this point, we’ll descend toward the Guardian’s House, the perfect spot to capture classic panoramic photos of this Wonder of the World. At the end of the tour, we’ll board the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for dinner (at your own expense).
