Day 1
Day 01: CUSCO - CUSIPATA - PHINAYA - QUELCAYA - CUSIPATA - CUSCO
We begin our adventure at dawn, departing from Cusco at 3:00 a.m. from designated meeting points. The five-hour journey will take us through the silent and breathtaking landscapes of the Andean highlands to the remote village of Phinaya. There, we'll enjoy an Andean breakfast before continuing for another hour to the impressive Quelccaya Glacier, the largest tropical glacier in the world. After a short and pleasant 15-minute walk, we'll arrive at this magical setting surrounded by lagoons, streams, vicuñas, and the mountains of the Vilcanota range. Back in Phinaya, we'll share a typical lunch and then begin our return to Cusco, with a special stop at the majestic Sibinacocha Lagoon. We'll end the day arriving back in Cusco around 9:00 p.m., after a unique experience amidst the pristine landscapes of the southern Andes.
