VALLEY TOUR OF CANYON 2 DAYS – 1 NIGHT
Conventional Colca Canyon 2 Days 1 Night (Starting and finish in Arequipa)
A journey to Peru is not complete without visiting Arequipa, the beautiful white city of Peru, and getting the chance to see the amazing condor soaring through the sky in its native habitat of Colca Canyon. Much of the architecture in Arequipa is made of a white volcanic stone, Sillar, hence its nickname of the white city. This gorgeous city combines tradition and modernity in peaceful harmony while providing the gateway to the tradition and breathtaking scenery of Colca Canyon.
08.00 Pick up at the hotel and departure from Arequipa (2325 masl). We drove along the paved road to Yura, through Pampa de Arrieros and Pampa Cañahuas, watching incompatible vicunas, llamas, alpacas .and migratory birds, then come to Viscachani where we enjoyed a coca tea to acclimate the body, the height. Continuing the journey appreciating the tocjras, lagoons and wetlands and also observe some migratory birds like flamingos, ibis. then arriving at the highest point of the journey Patapampa (4830 masl), also called the viewpoint of the Volcanoes, because from there you can see the volcanic chain in particular: the Hualcahualca, Sabancalla and Ampato, then descend to the town of Chivay. (3600 masl) Lunch. and accommodation at the hotel.
Optional afternoon visit to the hot springs of La Calera, where we will stay for a period of two hours approx. These baths are medicinal thermal water, which surpass 40 degrees C; good for physical illnesses.
In the morning (05.30) breakfast at the hotel. then depart for the Cruz del Condor where we will stay for a period of approx 2hrs. Where you can see in greatest dimension depth of the Colca Canyon and Condor also flying a short distance.
Return observe archaeological remains, Inca agricultural terraces and other pre panoramic views of the Colca Canyon. We will pass through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque in the latter we stop where we can observe its typical churches, craft center, the typical dress of its inhabitants, among others.
