Rafting in Apurimac 3 days / 2 nights

The Apurimac River “The God who speaks” is one of the best rivers in the world to make boating as it has the conditions for the practice of this sport, such as: excellent climate, Fast strong followed by flat water (For security), beautiful sandy beaches for camping, inhospitable and isolated from civilization.

Itinerary

We will have a meeting with our passengers, to give them a briefing of the trip one night before the tour begins.

Day 1: CUSCO – RIO APURIMAC

9:00 am departure from Cusco, towards the bridge Huallpachaca (2,000 m) to 5 hours south east of the city of Cusco, after lunch, our guide will give safety instructions (how to paddle, how to use the equipment etc.) and also have a small practice rescue in the river, after this, we will start to sail, for 1 hour to about ½, then camp on the river bank.

Day 2: RIO APURIMAC

After breakfast, break camp, to start navigating rapids class III and IV stopping only for portages, which are Class IV rapids. After lunch, we continue sailing until the afternoon (4:30 pm), time that we stop to camp.

Day 3: RIO APURIMAC – CUSCO

After breakfast continue rafting, running rapids class III, IV and V after 5 hours of sailing, we arrive at Quinta Primavera (Near the Kunyak bridge) which is where we end our adventure, there we will have lunch and then begin our return journey Cusco

Note: The rapids are categorized as follows:

  • Difficulty I-II Easy without risk, something exciting.
  • Difficulty III-IV Buenos exciting, with some risk.
  • Difficulty V Very exciting and risky.
  • Difficulty VI Extreme risk, you should not run
