Inka Jungle Trail Machu Picchu: Tours most complete with a combination of a decline in bike / trekking and one excursion to Machu Picchu. Since the entrance to the Inca Trail was limited in income we discovered this adventure as an alternative to the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Clasico. Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA Bike 55 km (Boating Optional)

Pick up from the hotel between 6:30 to 7:00 a.m.. and heading towards the Sacred Valley (Urubamba) through Ollantaytambo where we will supply water or other missing us for the tour, throughout this route we can appreciate beautiful and picturesque natural and cultural attractions. Arrive at approximately 11 am to Nevado Abra Malaga which is at an altitude of 4,350 meters, the starting point with the bikes, and go down heading towards the high jungle, passing through small villages, orchards, rivers and streams. We arrive at the town of Santa Maria at around 3 pm. OPTIONAL Then we are transported to the river given place to start rafting or boating which includes the respective helmets, life vests and gloves, This section has a difficulty III-IV with exciting rapids and with some risk but all supervised and accompanied by a professional company kayak and a fleet of rafts. After this exciting adventure we will be transported in a private vehicle to maintain the safety of our luggage and the group attached to the town of Santa Maria where we spend our first night in a family home.

DAY 2: SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA Trekking (23 km)

The second day of the Inca jungle we got up around 5:00 am To enjoy traditional breakfast then start the walk by the river bank. During the way we will witness the flora and fauna, this hike is part of the original Inca trail. Then we can cross the river using a wire basket which is also another adventure to remember. As we set out more in the jungle, we will see some of the many species of birds fantastic show their beauty and their sounds. Remember that in this part of the world, the jungle of the Amazon has the richest biodiversity on the planet. After a refreshing lunch in the small village of Kellomayo, we follow the route crossing waterfalls, streams, fruit plantations, reaching the thermal baths of Santa Teresa which is a resort of medicinal and therapeutic waters. After relaxing bath continue our walk 40 minutes to the town of Santa Teresa where we spend the second night. Tonight is used by most to enjoy a ‘pisco sour’ in one of the small but cozy clubs of Santa Teresa, where We will establish ties of lasting friendship with our group.

DAY 3: SANTA TERESA – TOWN MACHUPICHU trekking 16km (Zip Line Canopy-optional)

This day will be marked by the discovery and history that our professional guide will describe on the road, as atravezaremos routes that made the great explorers who discovered Machu Picchu and other important archaeological remains. After enjoying the scenery and a short rest we descend to the hydroelectric plant, where we expect our lunch and then continue our walk enjoying the splendid waterfalls from glaciers, coca and coffee from local residents, continuing to through the train route to reach Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo and settling into our tourist accommodation, with all necessary amenities such as private bathroom, hot shower. It is also possible to enjoy the hot springs of the people for an additional price. At night we will meet in a tourist restaurant where we will have the option of ordering a la carte and plan to visit Machu Picchu guide the next day. There spend our last night at the foot of Gran Machu Picchu.

DAY 4: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO (visit Inka Citadel)

Aldedor 4:00 am to get ready we headed to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu climb a path through the jungle (OPTIONAL can take the bus) thus having the opportunity to see the sunrise, after checking into the control 6:20 a.m. appreciate park sunrise if we are lucky, then continue the visit in Machu Picchu accompanied by our professional guide who will share their knowledge with us for about two hours and then have free time to visit and walks within citadel, based on the return train schedule. In the afternoon we descend to the people for the return on the tourist train from Machu Picchu Pueblo to Ollantaytambo, where we will recojidos tourist bus and taken to Cusco, where the tour ends.
