EXCURSION TO THE COUNTRYSIDE AREQUIPEÑA: Arequipa is a beautiful city which was founded by the Spanish in 1540 in a place specially chosen for its natural beauty and its warm climate, situated at 2300 meters above sea level. This beautiful city lies at the foot of Misti, a gigantic cone-shaped volcano 5822 meters high. Known as the White City, Arequipa is embodied fine colonial buildings and enjoys stunning natural landscapes. In the city center, visitors can visit the wonderful Monastery of Santa Catalina, the most important that this beautiful city has attractive, which shows numerous streets and passages, with elegant architecture dating back to the seventeenth century.
This interesting tour known as Arequipa Countryside, includes visits to architectural monuments and beautiful natural viewpoints surrounding the white city. Our tour begins with the gathering of our customers in their hotels, then we drive our mobility to the outskirts of town where first visit the beautiful viewpoint Sachaca, which will offer a beautiful natural landscape of Arequipa and volcanoes. Then we drive our car to the Mission of the Founder, beautiful colonial building where the founder of the city of Arequipa García Manuel de Carvajal lived in the fifteenth century. Finally we travel through spectacular Andean scenery and reach the Sabandia Mill, an impressive construction based on volcanic rock known as ashlar.
For this excursion it is necessary to wear warm clothes as the weather in Arequipa is usually cold, especially in winter time (June to September) where temperatures drop considerably in the evenings and nights are very cold. If you make this trip at other times of year can wear light clothes in the morning, but the afternoon is always advisable to wear a coat.
